Update on our move to the new premises at Peters Village

We wanted to give you an update on the current progress with our move into our new surgery at Peters Village.

Frustratingly, there have been a number hold-up’s outside of our control that have contributed to the fact that the physical build has not yet started. These include two pharmacy applications which we had to respond to which each took about 4 months; delays from the contractors who were building the retail units and village hall on site to complete their contracts and of course COVID!

As it stands, our developer, who will be in control of the build, is finalising the legalities to acquire the land on which our surgery will be built from Trenport. This is taking a lot longer than anticipated but the Practice, our developer, the Integrated Care Board (previously known as the Clinical Commissioning Group) and Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council are working with Trenport to get this completed as quickly as possible.

With Peters Village continuing to expand, the volume of patients continues to increase. In the last 3 years or patient numbers have risen by over 700 patients which equates to a 15% increase and re-emphasises the need for us to expand into larger premises. 

We at the Practice are committed to push through to get our new building and start a new chapter for the Phoenix Medical Practice. We will keep you, our patients, updated as soon as we get any further updates especially when we know the build can start and where a move-in date can be more accurately gauged.
